When people ask me how my labour went, the first thing I say is ‘I loved it’

This week’s story comes from Emily who did a TCBS  course with Instructor Jennifer Scholes from Empowered Bumps, Hypnobirthing, Doula & Baby Massage.

“Hi Jen,

I’ve been meaning to contact you for a while but you know how it is with a newborn!

I gave birth to a gorgeous little boy on 26th July at 8.14pm. After reduced movement I had to be induced at 7am on 25th July – this was the one thing that I was dreading throughout my pregnancy.
I didn’t require a full induction as my body soon took over after the initial prompting.

I will never use the word ‘easy’ to describe my labour but I do not have one negative thing to say about it. I loved every single minute. I breathed my way through my contractions and just kept thinking positively and stayed calm throughout.

When people ask me how my labour went, the first thing I say is ‘I loved it’ everyone is totally shocked and I feel good that I can then share with them my positive birth story.

The reason I’m contacting you is because I came to your hypnobirthing sessions and even though I didn’t use every tool you armed me with, I 100% believe that my positive mindset was down to you.

I know some births have complications along the way but I was lucky and I definitely believe that for me it was mind over matter. I want to thank you so much, your advice and knowledge is invaluable and I am so grateful.
