What an Empowering First Birth Experience to Enjoy!

Welcome Hugh James Rietze! Born May 14, 2016.

Thanks TCBS for a beautiful, empowering first birth. Waters broke at 2AM, gentle surges till about 9AM, pushing started at 11:30AM and baby Hugh made his appearance at 12:26PM.

The nurses kept saying I was ‘too smiley’ to be in labour…and said they didn’t want to check my cervix until I looked ‘a little more uncomfortable’.

Finally my husband had to chase one down in the hallway because he knows me and knew I was ready.

When the doctor finally agreed to check I was already at 9cm. Ha!

Suzy’s affirmations kept me positive during early labour, and my husband’s voice reminding me that surges peak after 30 seconds helped me stay calm through powerful waves.

So thankful for this class and this strong community for supporting me through pregnancy birth. I’ll miss you guys now that it’s over! One last request — Suzy can you write a course called the Calm Breastfeeding Guide???!! We could use it!

(My response: of course we do! 😉
