Hello! I’m Tiffany, an English expat living in Stockholm Sweden, with my Partner and little boy Lowen. Since having my little lad, as most mums will probably say, my priorities changed, but I also found a new passion.
I think many Mums feel unfulfilled or disconnected from their current or previous 9/5 jobs after having children, but for me the priority change was a little different in that the love for my career didn’t disappear, but I experienced a real calling for something else alongside. I felt a great need to support other mums about to embark on the same journey as I had just been on! I had no idea what a journey pregnancy, birth and becoming a mother would be and was terrified of giving birth, but after practicing hypnobirthing techniques I can say that my experience was positive and my memories are warm and calm, despite having some complications.
The realisation for me that I really wanted to support other women in achieving a positive and calm birth experience, came from an amalgamation of being a first time mum in a country that was not my own, and realizing how clueless I really was going into my birth before discovering hypnobirthing. I also missed the community feel of NCT classes being based abroad and wanted to support the expat community here in Stockholm to achieve what we are so lucky to have in the UK.
The Calm Birth School message really resonated with me because of its straightforward and factual message, as well as its sense of sisterhood and community, exactly what I would like to portray to my own clients. I can’t wait to support other women in achieving their own positive births and spready the calm birth school love!
