Becky has always been a nurturer. Growing up as the oldest cousin on both sides of her family, she was always taking care of the younger kids. In 2006 Becky naturally began her teaching career in Kentucky where she taught middle school for 10 years. During this time she also earned her Masters Degree in School Counseling.
When Becky first became pregnant with her son Sawyer in 2015, she and her husband took a hypnobirthing class which sparked her interest and love for the birth world. After her positive birthing experience, she was determined to help women also have positive, calm, and empowered births. She trained as a doula within a year after Sawyer was born.
In 2018, while Becky was pregnant with her daughter Hudson, her family moved to Holly, MI. She was surprised to find there were no hypnobirthing classes in her area. After her daughter was born she reached out to Metro-Detroit Hypnobirthing asking if she could join the team and expand locations in the Genesee County area. She quickly became certified and embarked on a new rewarding career teaching classes in Fenton and Flint.
Becky is most passionate about making sure her students know they have options during their birth and teaching them how to advocate for themselves. Her hope for her students is for them to walk out of her class looking forward to their birth and feeling prepared to welcome their little one in the enjoyable, calm, and empowered way nature intended.
When Becky is not teaching hypnobirthing classes, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and working out.
