What can I say about myself… My name is Maria del Rosario Amado Chaves and if there is something in this world that I am passionately devoted to, that would be my profession and all the fields which it involves. I love accompanying couples during one of the most important moments of their lives: the birth of a child. I remember that the first time I was present on a birth I remained captured by its magic and it was in that instant when I knew I wanted to be nothing else but a midwife.
Becoming a midwife wasn’t an easy path, I had to emigrate from Spain because during the middle of the 90s the market didn’t offer many opportunities for nurses. Thus, I decided to move to Ireland where I achieved two of my biggest dreams: in the first place, learning English, and in the second one, becoming a midwife. With a lot of effort and sacrifices, but with the support of my Spanish and Irish family, in 2001 I obtained my Higher Diploma in Midwifery by the University of Cork. Since then, I have had the fortune to work doing what I love.
I’ve never stopped training and enriching myself as a professional, which is the reason why I did the Hypnobirthing Course by the Calm Birth School in November 2019. After translating all the material into Spanish so that the Spanish speaking couples are able to form part of this amazing community, I am starting my journey as a Hypnobirthing Instructor looking forward to sharing all the knowledge that I have acquired.
In addition to being a midwife, I am the mother of three marvellous kids who have encouraged me to start this adventure and of course my husband who has always been there supporting me.

Que puedo decir de mí. Mi nombre es M ª Del Rosario y si hay algo que me apasiona en este mundo es mi profesión y todos los campos que ello implica. Me encanta acompañar a las parejas en unos de los momentos más importantes de sus vidas. El nacimiento de un hijo. Recuerdo que la primera vez que vi a una mujer dando a luz me quedé atrapada por la magia de ese momento, y supe en ese mismo instante, que no podía ser otra cosa más que matrona.
Llegar a ser matrona no fue un camino fácil, tuve que emigrar fuera de España porque allá por 1995 el mercado laboral para enfermeros en España no daba muchas oportunidades, así que me fui a Irlanda donde pude conseguí dos de mis grandes sueños: en primer lugar, aprender inglés, y en segundo lugar formarme como matrona. Con mucho esfuerzo y sacrificio, pero con el gran apoyo de mi familia española e irlandesa en 2001 conseguí: HIGHER DIPLOMA IN MIDWIFERY por la Universidad de Cork. Desde entonces he tenido la suerte de trabajar en lo que más me gusta.
Nunca he dejado de formarme y enriquecerme como profesional, por eso realice el curso de hipnoparto, con The calm birth School , en noviembre de 2019. Tras traducir todo el material al español para que las parejas de habla hispana puedan formar parte de esta maravillosa comunidad, ahora inicio la aventura como instructora de hipnoparto deseando compartir todo el conocimiento adquirido.
Además de matrona, soy madre de tres maravillosos hijos que me han animado a realizar esta aventura, y por supuesto mi marido que siempre está ahí dándome su apoyo.
